I currently have most of my work cast in Bronze(lost wax). It is possible to get anything cast in stainless steel? What kind of molds do they use? how expensive? Thanks M McMillian

[It can be done, although you'd have to find a foundry that offers it. Try A.R.T. Research Enterprises in Lancaster PA (717) 290-1309. It's usually cast in ceramic shell molds, which are good for the higher temperature. It is harder to work with than bronze, so figure on paying double what you'd pay for bronzes.]

Since stainless is indeed much more costly, and difficult to find a foundry to cast, why not have it cast in white bronze? You get the coolness of stainless at a lower cost and only slightly more problematic to metal finish.
