Christopher Kurtz (born 1975 in Excelsior Springs, MO) began his studies at the Kansas City Art Institute from 1994-1996 and later on to the NYSCC School of Art and Design at Alfred University where he earned a BFA in 1998. The following year he went to work as studio assistant to sculptor Martin Puryear (1999-2004) and in 2005 he was a recipient of the prestigious Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award. Christopher Kurtz currently resides in Accord, New York with his wife Deborah Ehrlich and daughter Willa.
