If so does anyone make figures like you would see in a wax museum (even if not made of wax, but lifelike in that way)? I'm interested in speaking with you!

Thanks,

You will no doubt get several replies from this newsgroup..... and I am one of them! I have done several life size busts. I am also a painter, and could lifelike paint a piece that I sculpt for you. What are you interested in?

You might look at http://www.artmolds.com/ali/members.html if you want an exact, not sculpted, duplicate. Opening the eyes is a bit problematic, as nothing you can do by hand will replicate the skin texture. On the other other hand, I've been wanting to do some experiments with mixing the alginate so thick that it wouldn't run into someone's eyes, and working just up to the edge. (I do have one cast where someone did open his eyes accidentally, but I'm not going to ask someone to intentionally do that)

Hey thanks for the link!

BTW- It is possible to cast someone with their eyes open by using scleral contact lenses. However I have never tried this technique because only a qualified doctor should apply such contacts: besides no actor i know would get it done!

I must apologyze! My wording was not very good... I'm not looking for someone to work for me but was interested in speaking to artists that share the same interest (just like you). Again I apologyze! I too am a sculptor, currently working in SFX, and would like to make some portraits of actors and people that I like and make silicone versions...

Where do you do SFX? I am interested in developing a haunted attraction, as a hobby right now, maybe commercial later. Haunted Mini-Golf - yes I am

Hey Gary, I work in Toronto (eh!). Sounds like fun! How bout some Aliens from the Alien Saga! Gotta putt in the facehugger and stuff... hehe.. I would play mini golf there just to see the cool things (as long as they are made well and not like those korney theme park things) Alien war in London had an attraction and was made well. Wax museum quality statues ( silicone is even better and lasts forever) would attract more people than crappy stuff!

It would be fun to make stuff like that!
